Healing Honey & Curative Cinnamon? by FinerMinds share by www.reiki4universe.co.nr

For thousands of years, Ayurvedic practitioners have used natural remedies for holistic healing. Honey and Ceylon cinnamon in particular, have been commonly poured, applied and ingested in order to relax, soothe and calm the body.
Well known for its healing properties, honey is seen as a “super food” due to its antimicrobial, antioxidant, and hygroscopic properties. It is recommended that local honey (produced in your area) be preferred over honey sourced from other areas due to the fact that gentle exposure to local pollen in honey will help build your immune system with the properties it needs to combat allergies in your environment. Good news for both our bodies and the local bee farmers – Cinnamon has a history of it’s own – used extensively in ancient China and Egypt, this spice was also mentioned in the Old Testament, (Exodus 30. 24) where Moses was commanded to use sweet cinnamon in the holy anointing oil. Used for healing, aromatherapy and cooking, Ceylon cinnamon is the best option to go with as concerns have been raised over the consumption of cheaper cassia cinnamon.
Most recently, the combination of honey and Ceylon cinnamon (let’s call its “Honamon”) has been under the spotlight as a one-stop alternative medication for a host of ailments including colds, hair loss and even hearing!
More common is the healing properties of “Honamon” to ease arthritic pain – drink one cup of hot water with two spoons of honey and one small teaspoon of cinnamon powder per day; rubbing one part honey, one teaspoon of cinnamon and two parts of luke warm water into aching areas is also said to do wonders.

If consuming cinnamon is not your thing, try sprucing the scents of your home using cinnamon to reap aromatherapy benefits in one of the following ways:

Room spray. Combine a few drops of cinnamon essential oil with vodka (you can use distilled water as an alternative but its shelf-life is not as long) and spritz away germs and bad odors from you house.

Holiday garland. Instead of hanging garlic bulbs in your kitchen, string cinnamon sticks with dried cranberries and bay leaves to get a nice fragrance wafting past.
Isn’t it brilliant that we can turn to natural remedies to help heal our body? Wonder when the coffee shops will do a honey, cinnamon latte to go!
