Healing Honey & Curative Cinnamon? by FinerMinds share by www.reiki4universe.co.nr

For thousands of years, Ayurvedic practitioners have used natural remedies for holistic healing. Honey and Ceylon cinnamon in particular, have been commonly poured, applied and ingested in order to relax, soothe and calm the body.
Well known for its healing properties, honey is seen as a “super food” due to its antimicrobial, antioxidant, and hygroscopic properties. It is recommended that local honey (produced in your area) be preferred over honey sourced from other areas due to the fact that gentle exposure to local pollen in honey will help build your immune system with the properties it needs to combat allergies in your environment. Good news for both our bodies and the local bee farmers – Cinnamon has a history of it’s own – used extensively in ancient China and Egypt, this spice was also mentioned in the Old Testament, (Exodus 30. 24) where Moses was commanded to use sweet cinnamon in the holy anointing oil. Used for healing, aromatherapy and cooking, Ceylon cinnamon is the best option to go with as concerns have been raised over the consumption of cheaper cassia cinnamon.
Most recently, the combination of honey and Ceylon cinnamon (let’s call its “Honamon”) has been under the spotlight as a one-stop alternative medication for a host of ailments including colds, hair loss and even hearing!
More common is the healing properties of “Honamon” to ease arthritic pain – drink one cup of hot water with two spoons of honey and one small teaspoon of cinnamon powder per day; rubbing one part honey, one teaspoon of cinnamon and two parts of luke warm water into aching areas is also said to do wonders.

If consuming cinnamon is not your thing, try sprucing the scents of your home using cinnamon to reap aromatherapy benefits in one of the following ways:

Room spray. Combine a few drops of cinnamon essential oil with vodka (you can use distilled water as an alternative but its shelf-life is not as long) and spritz away germs and bad odors from you house.

Holiday garland. Instead of hanging garlic bulbs in your kitchen, string cinnamon sticks with dried cranberries and bay leaves to get a nice fragrance wafting past.
Isn’t it brilliant that we can turn to natural remedies to help heal our body? Wonder when the coffee shops will do a honey, cinnamon latte to go!

Significance of Gardening in life share by www.reiki4universe.co.nr

If you’re looking for a simple activity that can be easily done at home and will also keep you fit, then you should definitely consider gardening. While it may seem like a small and tireless activity, there are a lot of physical and mental benefits of working in one’s garden regularly. There are various reasons to why gardening is good, they are as follows:
  1. - It not only benefits our body but the mind as well
  2. - Since gardening requires a certain amount of time and attention, it can be a huge stress buster. It also helps us from anxiety and other emotional issues in life
  3. - There are a number of physical benefits to gardening as well. Did you know that you can burn as many calories in 45 minutes of gardening as you can in 30 minutes of aerobics? Depending on the task that you are doing, you are using many different muscle groups, and thus, increasing your flexibility and strength
  4. - Gardening teaches you to be patient as planting takes time. One has to do lots of hard work to see the end result into a beautiful flower. It can also be beneficial to people with stress or anger problems as a regular work creates focus and provides a positive environment and state of mind
  5. - Gardening lowers your risk of diabetes. It is a simple physical activity that will not put too much pressure on your body, while giving the same feeling of a workout
  6. - Horticultural therapy has been developed to help people who have psychiatric disorders deal with their conditions. People with dementia and anxiety have found that gardening helps calm their agitation, leading to better sleep patterns.

Aura Cleansing and Healing share by www.reiki4universe.co.nr

As we accumulate unwanted energies in daily life, regular aura cleansing supports health and well-being. Like psychic dust bunnies, we go around collecting debris on our aura, until we finally do something to cleanse it...

It is the same with personal hygiene. If you do not bathe, your body will become dirtier and dirtier. Gradually the smell becomes unbearable. Eventually, your body even becomes a breeding ground for disease and bacteria. If you do not cleanse your aura, your spiritual energy system will also become 'dirtier and dirtier'. Eventually you become unpleasant for others to be around (though they may not consciously understand why). Your energy system then begins to attract lower vibrations which are also unhealthy for you and others.

In modern culture, we expect people to take care of their personal hygiene by bathing regularly, if not daily. But we are not yet so spiritually evolved!

Cleansing your Aura Just like washing your hands cleans one part of your body and washing your face takes care of another... different approaches to aura cleansing will support you in clearing different aspects of your energy system. Some aura clearing approaches are more lightweight--in terms of personal hygiene--like changing your clothes, or putting on deodorant. They are still useful, but they can't replace bathing! Other methods of aura cleansing go much deeper--equivalent to having a good scrub-down, or going for a detoxifying spa treatment.

Options for Aura Cleansing...

Bathing with Epsom Salts: Water helps wash away dirt, both physically and energetically. Adding Epsom Salts to your bath stimulates the flow of your own energy and also draws minor psychic debris out of your aura.

Swimming: Submerging yourself in water helps cleanse your aura. As ocean water contains salt and minerals, it is especially useful for drawing minor psychic debris out of your aura.
Sunlight: Gentle exposure to sunlight stimulates the flow of your own energy. Some lower vibrations cannot exist with exposure to bright light.

POWERFUL APPROACHES TO AURA CLEANSING...
1. Aura Meditation Even basic meditation helps you relax and release. Aura meditation works directly with releasing unwanted energies through grounding, clearing your aura, energy channels and chakras. One of the most powerful ways to cleanse and care for your aura is energy-based aura meditation.

2. Feeling your Emotions When your emotional energy is blocked, it creates congestion and back-up throughout your spiritual energy system. This makes it easy to get stuck with unwanted energies. Allowing yourself to feel hidden emotions creates a release of energy. This movement and flow supports you in cleansing psychic debris.

Other Options for Aura Cleansing...

Wind: Standing with an open body posture in a strong wind supports you in releasing unwanted energies. As sea breezes contain moisture, salt and minerals, ocean winds are especially beneficial for aura cleansing.

Gardening or Being in Nature: Through gardening and being in Nature, you come in direct contact with the earth. This helps you get grounded and release unwanted energies out of your system.

Creativity: Creating something you're enthusiastic about gives you a 'creative high'. These surges of creative energy stimulate the flow of your own energy and support you in releasing blocks and unwanted energies.

The sceince Behind Reiki share by www.reiki4universe.co.nr

What Happens in a Treatment?

Independent research by Dr. Robert Becker and Dr. John Zimmerman during the 1980's investigated what happens whilst people practice therapies like Reiki. They found that not only do the brain wave patterns of practitioner and receiver become synchronised in the alpha state, characteristic of deep relaxation and meditation, but they pulse in unison with the earth's magnetic field, known as the Schuman Resonance. During these moments, the biomagnetic field of the practitioners' hands is at least 1000 times greater than normal, and not as a result of internal body current. Toni Bunnell (1997) suggests that the linking of energy fields between practitioner and earth allows the practitioner to dr.aw on the 'infinite energy source' or 'universal energy field' via the Schuman Resonance. Prof. Paul Davies and Dr. John Gribben in The Matter Myth (1991), discuss the quantum physics view of a 'living universe' in which everything is connected in a 'living web of interdependence'. All of this supports the subjective experience of 'oneness' and 'expanded consciousness' related by those who regularly receive or self-treat with Reiki.
Zimmerman (1990) in the USA and Seto (1992) in Japan further investigated the large pulsating biomagnetic field that is emitted from the hands of energy practitioners whilst they work. They discovered that the pulses are in the same frequencies as brain waves, and sweep up and down from 0.3 - 30 Hz, focusing mostly in 7 - 8 Hz, alpha state. Independent medical research has shown that this range of frequencies will stimulate healing in the body, with specific frequencies being suitable for different tissues. For example, 2 Hz encourages nerve regeneration, 7Hz bone growth, 10Hz ligament mending, and 15 Hz capillary formation. Physiotherapy equipment based on these principles has been designed to aid soft tissue regeneration, and ultra sound technology is commonly used to clear clogged arteries and disintegrate kidney stones. Also, it has been known for many years that placing an electrical coil around a fracture that refuses to mend will stimulate bone growth and repair.
Becker explains that 'brain waves' are not confined to the brain but travel throughout the body via the perineural system, the sheaths of connective tissue surrounding all nerves. During treatment, these waves begin as relatively weak pulses in the thalamus of the practitioner's brain, and gather cumulative strength as they flow to the peripheral nerves of the body including the hands. The same effect is mirrored in the person receiving treatment, and Becker suggests that it is this system more than any other, that regulates injury repair and system rebalance. This highlights one of the special features of Reiki (and similar therapies) - that both practitioner and client receive the benefits of a treatment, which makes it very efficient.

It is interesting to note that Dr. Becker carried out his study on world-wide array of cross-cultural subjects, and no matter what their belief systems or customs, or how opposed to each other their customs were, all tested the same. Part of Reiki's growing popularity is that it does not impose a set of beliefs, and can therefore be used by people of any background and faith, or none at all. This neutrality makes it particularly appropriate to a medical or prison setting.

Significance of Holi by www.reiki4universe.co.nr

Significance of Holi

Significance of Holi
In spite of being such a colourful and gay festival, there are various aspects of Holi which makes it so significant for our lives. Though they might not be so apparent but a closer look and a little thought will reveal the significance of Holi in more ways than meets the eyes. Ranging from socio-cultural, religious to biological there is every reason why we must heartily enjoy the festival and cherish the reasons for its celebrations.
So when, its time for Holi, please don't hold yourself back and enjoy the festival to the hilt by participating with full enthusiasm in every small tradition related to the festival.

Mythological Significance
Holi gets us close to our religion and our mythology as it is essentially the celebration of various legends associated with the festival.
Foremost is the legend of Prahlad and Hiranyakshyap. The legend says there once lived a devil and powerful king, Hiranyakshyap who considered himself a god and wanted everybody to worship him. To his great ire, his son, Prahlad began to worship, Lord Vishnu. To get rid of his son, Hiranyakshyap asked his sister, Holika to enter a blazing fire with Prahlad in her lap, as she had a boon to enter fire unscathed. Legend has it that Prahlad was saved for his extreme devotion for the lord while Holika paid a price for her sinister desire. The tradition of burning Holika or the 'Holika dahan' comes mainly from this legend.

Holi also celebrates the legend of Radha and Krishna which describes the extreme delight, Krishna took in applying colour on Radha and other gopis. This prank of Krishna later, became a trend and a part of the Holi festivities.
Mythology also states that Holi is the celebration of death of Ogress Pootana who tried to kill infant, Krishna by feeding poisonous milk to it.
Another legend of Holi which is extremely popular in Southern India is that of Lord Shiva and Kaamadeva. According to the legend, people in south celebrate the sacrifice of Lord of Passion Kaamadeva who risked his life to revoke Lord Shiva from meditation and save the world.

Also, popular is the legend of Ogress Dhundhi who used to trouble children in the kingdom of Raghu and was ultimately chased away by the pranks of the children on the day of Holi. Showing their belief in the legend, children till date play pranks and hurl abuses at the time of Holika Dahan.

Cultural Significance
Celebration of the various legends associated with Holi reassure the people of the power of the truth as the moral of all these legends is the ultimate victory of good over evil. The legend of Hiranyakashyap and Prahlad also points to the fact that extreme devotion to god pays as god always takes his true devotee in his shelter.

All these legends help the people to follow a good conduct in their lives and believe in the virtue of being truthful. This is extremely important in the modern day society when so many people resort to evil practices for small gains and torture one who is honest. Holi helps the people to believe in the virtue of being truthful and honest and also to fight away the evil.

Besides, holi is celebrated at a time of the year when the fields are in full bloom and people are expecting a good harvest. This gives a people a good reason to rejoice, make merry and submerge themselves in the spirit of Holi.

Social Significance
Significance of HoliHoli helps to bring the society together and strengthen the secular fabric of our country. For, the festival is celebrated by non-Hindus also as everybody like to be a part of such a colouful and joyous festival.
Also, the tradition of the Holi is that even the enemies turn friends on Holi and forget any feeling of hardship that may be present. Besides, on this day people do not differentiate between the rich and poor and everybody celebrate the festival together with a spirit of bonhomie and brotherhood.
In the evening people visit friends and relatives and exchange gifts, sweets and greetings. This helps in revatalising relationships and strengthening emotional bonds between people.

Biological Significance
It is interesting to note that the festival of Holi is significant for our lives and body in many other ways than providing joy and fun.
We also need to thank our forefathers who started the trend of celebrating Holi at such a scientifically accurate time. And, also for incorporating so much fun in the festival.

As Holi comes at a time of the year when people have a tendency to feel sleepy and lazy. This is natural for the body to experiences some tardiness due to the change from the cold to the heat in the atmosphere. To counteract this tardiness of the body, people sing loudly or even speak loudly. Their movements are brisk and their music is loud. All of this helps to rejuvenate the system of the human body.

Besides, the colours when sprayed on the body have a great impact on it. Biologists believe the liquid dye or Abeer penetrates the body and enters into the pores. It has the effect of strengthening the ions in the body and adds health and beauty to it.

There is yet another scientific reason for celebrating the Holi, this however pertains to the tradition of Holika Dahan. The mutation period of winter and spring, induces the growth of bacteria in the atmosphere as well as in the body. When Holika is burnt, temperature rises to about 145 degrees Fahrenhiet. Following the tradition when people perform Parikrima (circumambulation or going around) around the fire, the heat from the fire kills the bacteria in the body thus, cleansing it.

The way Holi is celebrated in south, the festival also promotes good health. For, the day after the burning of Holika people put ash (Vibhuti) on their forehead and they would mix Chandan (sandalpaste) with the young leaves and flowers of the Mango tree and consume it to promote good health.

Some also believe that play with colours help to promote good health as colours are said to have great impact on our body and our health. Western-Physicians and doctors believe that for a healthy body, colours too have an important place besides the other vital elements. Deficiency of a particular colour in our body causes ailment, which can be cured only after supplementing the body with that particular colour.

People also clean-up their houses on Holi which helps in clearing up the dust and mess in the house and get rid of mosquitoes and others pests. A clean house generally makes the residents feel good and generate positive energies.
